Spotted in a book I have that Mukilteo Motorsports has replacement Lexon windows for 911. But coulden't find on web, Search here under Mukilteo an found a site that has them for sale. They don't give any weight compaired to glass, but maybe If you give them a call they would know.

Why would you want to use a heavy rubber OEM seal for in a situation where you want minimal weight and the polycarbonate is thinner than the glass it replaces?

Keep it looking as stock as possible. Goal is to keep it looking like a street car and not have it morph into a track car on the street. The least amount of clues that the car is the business the better. The more humility I can heap onto Ferrari, Vette, Viper and other Porsche drivers the better. It's fun to see the faces, if and when they catch up, after they've been smoked by a narrow body 964.

I am thinking about going to a pre 85 rear window to loose the black ring where the thirld lamp used to live. PPG glass is fairly cheap. Not light weight but cleaner look. I wonder if they are available with out defroster lines?

GT-racing.com says they have plastic windows that will fit in the OEM seals. Not that expensive either.
FVD also has windows in macrolon with lightweight frames that looks really nice, very clean and no screws but very expensive....

Hi Guys. I operate Spektr Products. We have all sorts or windows for the 911/C2/C4/993 tubs. IF you change all the glass in the car to plastic, the 911 will shed right at 46 lbs. The big hitters are the Windshield and he Rear window. We have coated windshields and molded rear windows. The rear windows will mount in the original rubber, the fiberglass flush frames available from a few different folks, or a complete drop in flush mount window assembly that we preassemble in a jig.
The old Mulilteo Motorsports products are what we started with, and we have expanded our offerings from there. If we can help you, just give us a call.

I changed out the glass and hardware in the doors of my 72 , and there was a big diffrence in weight.
About half of the weight was the stuff to make the window go up and down.
I was really happy with the results, But I would not buy the doorglass from someone(GT RAcing) agian and do it.
I would buy the sheets of lexan and cut them out my self, that is all they did simple.
