I've seen / read here that people have had broken studs with / on the 3.6s .
Tap plus slap , could be lots of things . AC pump , fan belts , alternator going south , I could go on and on with all sorts of crazy things . When its tracked down it will probably be some small thing . But ya never know , till its tracked down .

Man this just makes me sick, I hope that because there is no power lost , and oil leaking
That is something small or simple.....not a head stud issue or a bent/broken valve.

Update:

I trailered the car from the Gulf Coast to Atlanta. Droped it off and the P.O. was very sorry for the troubles, and said he whated to pay for trailer rental as well. He went on to say he would make it right @ no cost ot me. WOW.

He dropped it off next store @ the Porsche shop, and said he would let me know what they find.

Well I talked to him today, and it is not good.

It looks like the right side of the engine (heads and cams) lost oil pressure. .....Well you know what that will do. So now they have to go in and find the cause and fix the damage to the top of the engine on that side. I am thinking some of the rockers and the cam. SO I think he is going to pull the engine now so he can see what is involed.

I will keep ya'll posted

The P.O. said that he would make sure it was right, and he told the shop to make sure the repair is done right too.

Thanks for the help so far.

Holy smokes. Glad you did not drive it home! Also, never heard of a private selling standing so squarly behind the car he sold. I've taken 1 vehicle back that I sold because of an engine problem (boat) but this really sounds quite extrodinary.

Sad to hear about all the problems, glad that he's going to take care of it! Good luck and I'm sure you'll be enjoying the car and forgetting about all this madness quicker than you think.

Update,~ 10-30-06
They decide to go ahead and check the other side of the engine, and replace that sides cam as well. It looks like it will be ready next Monday.

UPDATE:11/27/06
So I dropped the car @ the shop today , and this is what they said.
They said that they are not surprised that it did it again.
They told the guy I bought the car from that they thought the case need to be split to get the all the sealant that is plugging the oil ports.
He said that he fixed the right side and then he discoved that it was plugged on the left side , that is why he needed to change both sides out.
They told the guy I bought it from that the case really need to be split to make sure the issue is fixed, but he said to just fix the broken parts. I quess we will see what happens from here.
Thanks
Derek
