Tear Drop Mirrors - Wiring?
Just got a nice set of Cup Mirrors to replace my '90 Flag mirrors. I notice that there is a small circular socket in the mirror base to connect to the electrics. I have been told that the plug required is not available as a spare as it is part of the loom (?) in the late 964's and 993's on which these mirrors were standard. So help needed as to the best way to connect to my '90 964 wiring - I don't really want to start ripping out the socket in the mirror bases! Suggestions appreciated as always.

I cut the connector and re-wired but my wire colours did not match those in that article.
I can post the wire colours I used later today (once at home) if nobody else comes up with them before that.

I STILL need to get mine wired. They are the only thing that has never worked since I bought the car. After all the washings, waxings, etc... The mirror position has never changed... And I am the only one who ever drive it. It hasn't been a high priority item for me. I know it will be an afternoon-long project.
... Maybe in the winter... I have a list to do whiles it's sleeping in the garage.

O Ho - tricky one! I have been able to get hold of the plugs with about 6" attached wire from a breakers yard. Therefore I do not need to cut off the socket in the mirror base to expose the mirrors wires to connect. However the wires coming from the plug do not correspond with the colours in Smokins chart or in Robs article!! Eckythump. My car is a RHD & the colours I have on the plug cut off the doors wiring looms of the wrecked car are:
Driverside: grey/green; red/blue; brown; black/blue; white/blue; blue/red
Passengerside: blue/red; brown; black/red; white/red; grey/green; blue/red
Does anyone know which colours these should be connected to on my '90 ex Flag mirror wires? Thanks.
