Default Rocker Strip/seal: Can't find anywhere.

Any one know where I can find this black strip/seal that goes on the rear rocker panel (garnish)?

(no this is not a pic of my car)

I've looked on Pelican and can't find anything that resembles it.

I wonder if it could be something that a auto shop may have thats generic and would work the same? I have seen it on Ebay and you can get it from the dealer.

yup... got mine from the dealer... somehow I can't remember those being cheap as YY930 mentions... I don't thing anything for the 964 is cheap anymore... Porsche raised the prices on most of the parts.... again, I would have to go back to the invoice to see how much those were...

The MSRP in the August price list is $11.76 so they should be available for ~$7USD.

Are there dealers that will give discounts for being a Rennlist member or PCA member?

When I had my BMW, I used to get 20%- 25% off parts since I was a CCA memeber.

You can find a list of sponsors HERE. PelicanParts mostly charges MSRP but are really quick to get stuff to your door. Sunset Imports is the cheapest (cost + 15%) but not the quickest if you are on the east coast and the part you're ordering is in a PCNA warehouse in Atlanta. If you are purchasing aftermarket parts then they will more than likely come from Worldpac (a fulfillment house used by EVERYBODY) and they have warehouses all over the country.

I bought mine at VertexAuto - fast shipping and a RL sponsor too.

A related question... How do you remove the shark fin to replace the seal? Does it use clips?

It has 2 nuts and a couple of clips that probably will break off.

doesnt screw up the strip and get the clips from the dealer because some will break. Sometimes there may be an inch of extra strip tucked under that can be used if yours has shrunk like mine has.
