Ahhh, sounds to me like im missing the covers over the headlight adjusting rings and ive painted them instead, i took me ages to remove the rings carefully from the lights themselfs and all this time i didnt need to :-( ****.

Ive been hunting on eBay for months for 964 parts and never come across headlight ring covers before?

Do you think i should get a pair or leave it as it is?

Opinions please :-)

Maybe I'm confused, but weren't there trim rings with black plugs in them to allow access to the adjusting screws also? My 84 had the second "trim ring" that covered everything like you guys are talking about, but my 94 has the rings with holes, but no plugs. Could they have been for the European headlights?

No headlamp plugs or screws in that area on the outer ring for UK models, least not in any I've seen thus far.

US headlamps differ from European ones ,ive seen lots of American 911`s with the screws showing.perhaps they have been converted from h5`s to h4`s?

The US headlamps (H5's) on a 964 have a single ring painted to match the car color which should have black rubber grommets with razor slits covering the adjusting screws (silver pic below).

The ROW headlamps (H4's) should have two rings. The outer is painted to match the car color and should have no holes; save the one for the securing screw at the bottom; same as US mounting screw (black pic below with jus tthe inner ring showing and the adjusting screws revealed).

I'm told you can paint the ROW inner ring to match the car, but it's a bit of a job to dis/re-assemble the lamp to the ring.
