Default First Valve Adjust

Ive searched and read the DIYs and Im feeling pretty brave. I think I can do a valve adjust and mine is going to be due soon. My last valve adjust was a small block Chevy many years ago.

However, Im not clear on the best Valve cover gaskets. Currently mine dont leak and I really dont want them to leak after I do the valve adjust. Is it best to buy one of the kits from Pelican or is it better to source the reuseable silicone gaskets. I prefer to buy the Kit so I know everything is included. If there are good deals on tune up kits please let me know the best place for quality and price.

Thanks in advance.

I bought a kit through pelican for my first adjust since I had no idea the condition of the current seals. I've since done them twice more and havent replaced anything again. ymmv

Original from the factory valve cover gaskets are problem free and probably your best bet. You want the following parts

964-105-135-01 (2) (lower)
964-105-173-01 (6) (upper)

Porsche sells valve adjustment and regular maintenance kits that include everything you need. Price and service-wise I'm partial to Sunset Imports (cost + 15%).

I think Pelican's kit is cheaper than Sunset's because they get a better deal on the plugs. I'm pretty sure that Pelican's kit uses stock gaskets.

The kits sold by Pelican are more expensive and they use aftermarket (Gloeckler) seals, not OEM.

I emailed Sunset the list of stuff Pelican includes. They said they couldn't match the price because Pelican had them beat on the price of Bosch plugs. This was on a Turbo kit so I assume an NA would be worse due to 2x the number of plugs. I thought the gaskets were stock, but maybe I'm remembering wrong. This was about 4 months ago.
If in doubt, ask Sunset. Maybe they got a better deal on the plugs in the last 4 months.

I completely missed the fact that Pelican includes distributor caps and rotors with their tune-up kit. The two required factory kits don't (964-100-956-00 & 964-105-902-00).

Does the Pelican kit include the stock 3 prong Beru or Bosch spark plugs? Ive never had my plugs out either and Im assuming the stock type are in the car.
Thanks guys.
