Misfire/stalling
#18
Good luck Mark, hope all gose well tomorrow.
This might be a long shot, but it kept me guessing for a long time. I had the same problem with my 964. It ran great till it got hot, then major power loss, and missfireing. Oil had gotten in the plug/recptor for the coil. I had reved the engine when the cap was off the oil tank. I had been adjusting the oil level. Any way some of the oil got into the conection for the coil. For what ever reason the electrical conection was fine till the oil in the plug got hot. Once hot it broke the conection. As a result I was running on one set of plugs, with a second set that would sometimes fire. Once the receptor was cleaned it worked fine. I found it by removing the coils one at a time. When I took a close look at the coil with no effect it was covered in oil. Once the coil and plug were cleaned it ran fine.
