Default How Many MPG Should I Get?!

This weekend I did the N Wales run (very enjoyable) and set off with a full tank and topped up again on getting back to home. I covered 328 miles about half motorway at around 90 mph and half spirited driving trying to keep up with the others! I got 23.8 mpg - I would have expected more. What's your view and typical fuel usage?

I expect to get 350 miles from a tank when there is a fair amount of motorway driving involved so I would say your figures are about right.

I get 27-28 commuting and trips. top speed up to about 80 mph.

Around town or excessive heavy footed I get down to 21-22.

Jim, you have a Turbobody.....

I get around 22.7mpg when crusing around 90-95......I would expect to get less than 20mpg if I was cruising forhalf the tank and 'spritied driving' for the other half....but then my car is not standard...

I used to get around 28mpg on a run of say 90mph, sowith half of it 'spirited' I would assume that you are not far off.......

Lucky you haven't got a turbo... I got 18mpg at weekend and thought that was great!

I average about 19-20...

Freeway @ 80mph I get about 26 mpg

City driving I get about 16 mpg, I think. Whatever it is, it's bad because I like the hear the orchestra of sounds the 964 emits under decent throttle. I'm just trading a little fuel for a little extra sound and fun.

i have been getting 16.5 +/- in town and just got 25.7mpg 550 miles round trip to Miami at 75-80mph this weekend. I have a TIP so may be a bit lower then a 5 speed.

I got 26mpg on a one stop 446 mile trip this summer while averaging an undisclosed speed. I thought that was pretty good.

Hi Ian, fwiw, I did 290 miles on Sunday, filled up on the way out in Halifax, then at the same station on the way back and cost me £60 worth of optimax. This is normal.... and well worth the fun for an afternoon on those roads.

I got about 400 miles from the tank during Le Mans, 28mpg average, which included excursions well above average.....

My '90 gets about 15 in the city with a lot of jack rabbit starts and 25 on the highway. My record is 510 miles on a tank one time driving about 75-80.

Last time I filled up I had managed 136 miles on 66 litres of optimax which to be fair is pretty good as it's about as low fuel consumption as you could reasonably expect to get ever. Some other sports cars do a lot worse.

27 28mpg on the m-way with one eye on my licence.

Remember that a US Gallon is smaller than a UK gallon.
1 gallon imperial = 1.20095 gallon US

1 gallon imperial = 4.546092 liters
1 gallon us = 3.785412 liters
