"This hydrolocked my engine and probably ruined my turbos too."
I really doubt that raw gas did anything to your turbos . Turbos live in a very harsh local . Freaking hot exhaust , over run rich flames , raw gas on start ups , etc etc etc .

And a hydrolock in itself is no big deal , if no force was applied .
Have you done a compression test post mortem ?

That photo you posted is a nightmare .
If your wires are like that , are mine ?
Do I need to cut open my loom , am I going to need to rewire a very complex car ?

My thoughts exactly!

Do let us know if you discover anything. I, of course, will do the same, but don't have any immediate plans to go looking. Scary.

Your wiring harness should be fine. Jaime has a 993TT wiring harness with a wire covering that Porsche tried to over-engineer but had to eventually recall.

Yeah, guys. This harness was/is the 993tt which had a recall about 4 years ago. Wish the PO would have gotten it fixed!! I, of course, had no idea this could happen. Have been posting on both the 964 and 993tt forums for over 2 years and not once did I ever hear about a harness problem....what luck!

UPDATE:

SHE LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Upstream from the photo I showed, I discovered TWO completely severed wires, a big fat red one, and one fuel injector-looking one. Did a quick fix with electrical tape and buttoned her up and fired up without problems. Went on a spin, no problems. Diagnosis: Partially fubared harness. Going to order one ( $700 bucks!!) and plugg it in. No bent rods that I can tell at this time.
