I'll give a try. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'll ballpark some repair costs (being conservative) if you can't DIY and have to have a shop do the work:
$3,000 initial car purchase
$8,000 motor rebuild (probably more than this)
$2,000 for new wiring harness and electrical issue troubleshooting and repairs
$3000 for average quality respray in Guards Red
$1000 for interior cleanup and repairs (carpet repairs, leather repairs, trim repairs, etc.)
$2000 for suspension and brake repairs/maintenance, etc.
$3000 for transmission rebuild
$2500 for new clutch and/or flywheel
$24,500 total and you're still left with a car worth $13,000...
