Default Hey Guys, lets rate some tires!

Ok I have searched the forums and found a milion opinions on tires for different cars. And after three nights of reading tons of different related chats, I still don't know what to buy. In our forums we seem to imput too much of what we felt like when we drove the car, rather than the way the car performed when we drove it. I PROMISE THERE IS A POINT TO THIS!
I found that Tirerack (no affiliation..., etc.) rates some of the tires they sell on a scale of 1-10 in a few different categories. But again these are based on the guys who drive a H@#$a C@#$c (Everybody OK?)
SO HERE IT IS: Ladies and Gentelman, this is the first tire rating forum that will provide all of 964/965 DRIVERS ONLY with the ratings of STREET PERFORMANCE ONLY tires based not only on the tire brand and model, but also based on the various rim sizes, as well as the suspension setup. So take a few minutes and rate yours. Then come back and watch others rate theirs. And every two weeks I will sum up the info and post results. This will be usefull for years to come.
Stan
P.S. If you wanna rate more than one, be my guest. Any suggestions on how to improve this are welcome!

I need:
CAR YEAR MODEL
SUSPENSION MODIFICATIONS: NONE, MEDIUM, RACE
TIRES BRAND, MODEL, SIZE
MILLAGE ON THESE TIRES

TIRE RATING:
Rating is on a basis of 1 - 10. Simply answer the question: How satisfied am I with:

1. WET TRACTION
2. DRY TRACTION
3. CORNERING STABILITY
4. STEERING RESPONSE
5. RIDE COMFORT
6. NOISE COMFORT
7. TREADWEAR

Example of an answer:
1990 C4 Cab
Susp :Medium
Bridgestone Potenza RE910 205/55/16 - 225/50/16
16000 KM

1. 7
2. 8
3. 7
4. 8
5. 9
6. 9
7. 9

To avoid getting bumped to a technical forum, please refrain from rating "track-only" tires.

92 C2 Coupe
original suspension
Pirelli P Zero Assimetrico
225/50 ZR 17 255/40 ZR 17
15K on fronts 7K on rears

1. 3
2. 8
3. 7
4. 8
5. 9
6. 9
7. 6

Summary: These Pirellis are awful in the rain and while following a friend with some Kumhos that cost half of what the Pirellis do, I could not keep up due to serious hydroplaning over every spot of standing water. Very scary.

One recommendation: can the ratings include the category? For example:

1991 C4 Coupe
Suspension: Medium (lowered w/ Eibachs and corner balanced)
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
F: 225/17/45 R:255/17/40
20000 km (12000 mi)
Experience: 1 yr street/0 track events

1) 8 Wet Traction
2) 9 Dry Traction
3) 8 Cornering Stability
4) 8 Steering Response
5) 9 Ride Comfort
6) 9 Noise Comfort
7) 8 Treadwear

1992 C2 Coupe
no suspension mods
Yokohama ES 100s
255/40/17-205/50/17
1000 miles

1) 9 wet traction
2) 9 dry traction
3) 9 cornering stability
4) 9 steering response
5) 8 ride comfort
6) 8 Noise
7) too soon to tell treadwear

Comments-I've used the ES 100s on other 911s as well with very good results. I find them to be an ideal street tire and acceptable on the track. I was zipping along at about 100 in the rain yesterday with complete confidence. If wet driving is an issue for you, get these for sure. If not, I would get AO32s, but they wear quicker and they're not quite as good in the wet.

I have a bit of a problem with this but will try! The problem is, I would rate the tyres (please note the correct spelling of the word ) differently, depending on whether it is being used on the street or on the track. So I will rate them twice!

964 RS (ROW spec RHD)
Standard ROW RS spec, race geometry and corner weighted
Bridgestone Portenza S-02 - 205/50ZR17 and 255/40/ZR17
10,000 miles

Street use

1. 9 WET TRACTION
2. 8 DRY TRACTION
3. 9 CORNERING STABILITY
4. 9 STEERING RESPONSE
5. 9 RIDE COMFORT
6. 8 NOISE COMFORT
7. 9 TREADWEAR

Track use (once up to temp)

1. 10 WET TRACTION
2. 5 DRY TRACTION
3. 3 CORNERING STABILITY
4. 6 STEERING RESPONSE
5. 7 RIDE COMFORT
6. 8 NOISE COMFORT
7. 3 TREADWEAR

A bit of a difference!

Has anyone got ratings for Toyo T1-R's? I've used them before to great effect, but haven't seen them mentioned around here.

I'd also like to see another line entered in to describe the rater's experience. I know that in my own case I have just one year's experience driving these (this!) car so my opinions should be tempered with that fact. I also have no track experience. So, could we add an experience line above the ratings for street/track years in a porsche? I've edited my entry above.

Cheers,
Dave

1993 C2 Coupe
no suspension mods
Yokohama ES 100s
205/16/55 / 225/16/50
4,000 km (2,500miles)

1) 9 wet traction
2) 9 dry traction
3) 9 cornering stability
4) 9 steering response
5) 7 ride comfort
6) 6 Noise
7) no noticable wear

Comments-Quite sure these aren't N rated so not sure should be included. Although the tires have about 4000 km on them, these were made over the past 4 years. I've only had the car for 1,700km but feel the tires are noisy and hard feeling. Perhaps it's possible they've hardened since new. Thailand really beats up rubber products over time. Also, as it's my first 964 not sure the tendency to pull (left/right) on bumps ridges is common.

I had 16" with es100 they had awful traction and were NOISY!!!
I got a deal on 17" and put on the toyo T1R's they helped the front-end traction(C4) and are so quiet.

Uh, it's already in a technical forum.
