Default Emergency brake is causing my squealing.

Sometimes my emergency brake squeals while I am driving. Sometimes I am able to fiddle with the e-brake handle and make the squealing stop, but usually it does not work.

Is there any kind of emergency brake adjustment I can do?

My car is an AUTO, so the e-brake is not as big of a deal as if it were a manual.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

p.s. 1990 C2...if that makes a difference.

Mine were full of rust causing a loud clicking. Really you need to remove the rear rotor/drums and give them a good wire brushing. The main problem is removing the the rear caliper. Get the proper tool, if you round off the caliper securing hex bolts, it can be a real pain!

Are there any other ways to just adjust it? Maybe loosen it a small amount?

hmmm...Sounds, like if I want to loosen it, I might be able to do that with only getting in the center counsel and not even having to adjust the tightener / losner on the rear brake it's self?

Be careful, you may have as I had a spring holding the brake shoes come adrift, I'd be inclined to discover which wheel is doing this, and then use the spy hole to establish whether you have anything loose or not, it's not easy, but it you have it will all need to come to bits.

OK, thanks.
I'll have to dig in later.
