Tire life

A friend just gave me two slightly used Michellin 225-50x16's. I mean they're allmost new! I figure sice the rear always wear out first, I won the lottery getting these for free.
My question is although I don't need to put them on right now. How long and what's the best way to store them 'til I can "use them/save my self a couple of bucks not having to buy new"?
My 1990 C2 is driven ( to work, no track time) about 130 miles a week.
Any tire experts out there?
Thanks!

I'm not a tire expert, but I think you should store them off the ground/concrete on their sides in a cool dry place away from electric motors. Since they've been used, they won't have the new tire shelf life of several years. In fact, you might check their build dates on the outside sidewall, as they may already be several years old. Over time tire rubber tends to harden and lose some grip, so it would be better not to store them for several years.
