Crankcase parting line leak
How much of an oil leak at the crankcase parting line is acceptable..I get about a 1" in diameter pool each day. No other oil leaks noted. Thanks

Are you sure it is leaking from the case halves? It may be leaking up top and running to the lowest point in the car. In any case, we all know Porsches weap and leak, however, I still don't like leaks as you describe.

The leak is as acceptable as your wallet decides. Even if it dumps a litre a day its mostly just damage to your pride.
I am surpised it would leak at the case halves. Usually leaks are from the cylinder bases, timing chain covers, valve covers, rms, oil sender, ... , ...
It is expensive to fix a leak at the case halves.

Unfortunately it is not running down from the top. When the engine sits after a drive you can see the drip point at the case split...actually between two case bolt through points....same place every time.

maybe after your next drive you can somehow apply a rag to each end of the crankcase split to see if it's really coming from the case split or if it is indeed slowly leaking from another area but congregating at the split??
apply (tape? prop them up with 2x4's? something... get creative) the rags for a half hour or so, then observe the oil... if the leak is at the crankcase split, the oil will still be hanging out there. if not, the rag(s) on either end of the split will catch the oil and the middle will remain dry.
hope taht makes sense cause i dont have time to edit.

What luck
All oil leaks sealed!
Bit the bullet and took my oil leak problems to a local independent specialist. Admittedly the leak was small, but annoying. Originally a local dealer thought that there was a case part leak...WRONG. The specialist found a leaky crankshaft seal...replaced it and all is bone dry. He also replaced the original cooler oil hoses. Life is wonderful with a dry 964 and a spotless garage floor.
