Racecar Project - Going for Chassis Setup
Closing in on the finish line...Over the past several weeks I finished the wiring and tested all of the systems which worked right the first time. I bled the brakes and pumped up the power brakes and bled the accumulator. I'll test the circuit with a PST-2 or Hammer next week to ensure I have the wiring correct after I repaired/rewired the ABS system from the wrecked RSR wire harness. I programmed the dash and validated that the Car Area Network (CAN) is working properly between the three CAN devices (Dash, lap Beacon, and ECU). I calibrated the fuel sending unit and the tank is full of fuel. I setup the ECU so the engine could be fired and I plan to do that on Saturday with dyno tuning the following week. Tomorrow night I'm going to load the car on the trailer to take it to a friend's shop where I can corner balance and align the car. So far everything looks to be fitting very nicely even with the car slammed to the ground. I'll probably raise it some, but won't know until I can get under it and measure the ride height properly. I'm in good shape to make the Zone 1 48 hours at the end of the month and frankly I can't wait. Light at the end of the tunnel as the saying goes.
I can't wait to see the car outside the garage in the sunlight where I can take some better pictures.

I am planning to be at WGI for June 23,24,25 with the Zone 1 event.
The corner balancing and alignment went well today. I am pleased that chassis is completely straight and the alignment went with no issues. This is with the 993 front suspension installed in the wide body mounting points and the rear with narrow body control arms. Ride height is good and the tall 996 Cup car tires fit nicely with just enough clearance. I'm running a rather light spring package but with a 2000lbs car it should be fine. Tomorrow I start the engine!

The rocker panels are from GT Racing. I didn't like the Getty Design ones that came with the rest of the panels. To be fair, they may have been for converting an earlier car to C2T bodywork, and not replacement for C2T. They didn't have the tabs necessary to fit them properly. In all, I'm very happy with the Getty parts.
