I have an MA Shaw RS tail and deck lid for sale. I used it on my car for a year before I made a "few" cosmetic changes in my car. It's ready to paint and go. It does require some simple hinge adapters to be a bolt-on replacement.

That's the precise tail I had in mind for my 964. Is that a factory piece, how does one order it and how much paint/prep should I expect to have to hire out?

You can order factory pieces from your dealer. I think the MA Shaw or Getty Design pieces are as good or better and usually cheaper. Prep time depends on what you order, what paint color you have and if you want it perfect (ie, they have to blend) or will simply take a good match. You should consult the shop you want to install and paint it.
I like the subtle wings like the one in my avatar (Getty 3.8 base with 60" wing).

As an FYI, I had the chance to weigh my factory RSA wing and deck lid combo this past week (removed it for some refinishing work). The decklid and wing assembly complete weighed about 23 lbs (I say about because I was using a bathroom scale with me on it too, so give it plus or minus a couple of pounds). It actually weighs about 2 lbs LESS than my aftermarket RS 3.8 wing and lid (which showed 25 lbs). When I swap them back after I get the factory RSA wing refinished, I'll weigh them again to double check (maybe try to get a higher quality scale!).
