hey Kevin I looked around and couldn't seem to determine what exactly it was. Would you mind posting a picture of the microswitches (if you have one)

I'll get a photo tomorrow.
On the underside of the engine lid on the left side there is a black plastic cover. This is held in place by 2 phillips head screws on the right side of the cover and there are simply tabs on the left side. Remove this cover and you'll see the mechanism, gears, limit switches, etc. Be sure to lay down a towel across the engine because guaranteed you'll drop those screws down into the engine bay.
