Default flywheel / speed sensor gap on 90 C2

I have read a lot about this gap but haven't found anything in the manuals or PET or anything so far in the posts that I can positively identify as the correct gap for this.

Is it 1mm +/- .2mm ?

Mine did not come with any shims, just bolts onto the case, but the bolt holes obviously allow an adjustment for how close the sensor is to the teeth.

Sensor tip to flywheel teeth 1+- 0.2mm (0.04 += 0.008in)

According to Bentley Technical data pg 28-14

Oh and isn't that convenient - same as valve gap - I'll take convenient anytime I can get it. Thanks again

The distance between the ring gear and sensor (1mm +/- 0.2mm) is listed in the Engine Workshop manual, page D 24/28 - 26. The Bentley manual is kinda handy because it is small which makes everything easy to look up but the same stuff can be found in the workshop manuals and the Service Technik (spec book) for the 964.

I spent quite a while looking for that reference in the Workshop manual. Thanks for the reference!

Wow there it is - never would have thought to look under "DME diagnosis / troubleshooting" - you're the man, Jason!

Guess I'm going to have to print that bad boy up and start reading it on the toilet in my spare time...
