Thursday night projects...
Had a great evenbing last night, attending to a few outstanding jobs
1. Replaced my broken spoiler curtain. I spotted it had started to split and ordered a replacement from Porsche (993 part number, £47 inc vat thanks to my OPC parts man giving me a discount). 10 mins to fit (if that)
2. Replaced my driver's door sill clips (male and female). Mine had broken and were leaving a gap which I could see every time I opened the door. Replacements from OPC. 5 mins to fit.
3. Fitted Xenon headlights. What a difference! I'll post a picture later which shows quite dramatically the difference. Makes the H4 bulbs look like candles. The kit was from www.hids4u.co.uk and was VERY easy to fit. The kits have moved on a long way since Phil Raby did his project 964 in some magazine or other the bulbs fit easily within the headlight inner bowl, and the wires are long enough on the HID kit to mount the ballast pack inside the luggage compartment. The kit wiring simply plugs into the existing H4 headlight connector. No wiring required. Took about 90mins on the first headlamp and about half that on the other side. Left it late to drive home so I could use the new headlights!
All in all, a fun evening
