A quick update!

The glass is all back in after the painting. Headlights and rear lights are in but still waiting for some of the ancilliary parts which are still to be painted (next week). The ArmorCoat will be done next week too with a planned completion for 19th - just in time for the SE meet on 21st (fingers crossed!!!)

Regards

Dave

I really am a black car guy...but following threads such as this one, about yellows, and signal greens, and reds and etc.... is making me discover the beauty of these colours....

It's a small (4 man) operation just outside of Milton Keynes called TABS Enterprises Ltd. They are BMW (UK) approved and are so enthusiastic it's unreal!! The guys there are even more **** about details than I am!! Details are here

Hi Dave,

Sorry for asking, but how much wedge are you having to part with?

Cheers

Sunil,

By the time it's finished, including the ArmorCoat, it will be around £2500. That doesn't include all the new parts I've bought independently such as door hinges, door straps, headlamp seals, drain tubes, door sill rubbers, carpet retainers etc. etc. etc. New badges for front and rear too.

I've seen much higher prices quoted for "windows out" resprays so I don't think I've done too bad. Once it's all done I'll update the costings on the Pistonheads history here

Regards

Dave

PS Sunil, are you coming to Raymonds on Sunday??

Hi Dave,

I think I'll be in Aylesbury visiting the new girlfriend type... She was meant to be coming to London this weekend.

Cheers

Reassmbly getting under way now. Had a small problem with the ArmorCoat with the initial spraying but it's been sanded down (with some difficulty) and repainted today. Mirrors and spoiler are done and still on schedule for the end of the week.

It's interesting to note that the ArmorCoat could not be sanded with 1500 grade paper - it had no effect on it!! They had to resort to 400 grade pads on an electric sander to even take the gloss off it!!! This stuff is beginning to look like it might be VERY effective.

I'll post pics of the car when I collect it.

Regards

Dave

Looks very good - I'd be curious to head long-term how the Armour Coat works out for you.

Maybe I missed it, but what are you doing with the side-skirts? I recall you had an issue that they had to be removed and re-glued with every oil change, etc. Anything better now?

Marc
