'91 964 C4 Cab... sorry, meant to post that under the new image.

Cruise Cam - Hey, that's great news!! I haven't had the opportunity to let anyone else sit in the car and play while I watch the engine... which is why I didn't realize it was the cruise cam not the throttle cable cam. So much to learn about this machine...

Default cam

here is what you need part number 964 110 970 02 which is the cam kit if you only replaced the cam and not the the actuating rod cam the kit will be all you need just install new cam but if you replace all the parts on that little bracket it has an updated little lever and the rod is a different length so you will need the rod part number 964 110 649 01 also.

on my car i bought the kit and the newer rod as instructed , but only replaced the plastic cam and left used all the other parts and did not need the rod, it was only 10 bucks for the rod so it will be up to you. hope i did not confuse you but this is what you will need to fix your car. order from discount dealer it will be cheaper.

if you do not use your cruise control i would not be that worried as that cam nevers moves unless the cruise is activated. plus that cam is metal coated in plactic and is not going to totally fail. so you have some time to get another new one. i talked to sunset and they said it will have to be ordered. if you have PET look under illustation 107-02 item 37 and 39. you have the plastic intake which these apply to your car.

dutchcrunch,

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think what you are saying is the cam comes as part of a kit. The kit includes additional parts that may not be needed and get discarded if only the cam is used.

However, if the full kit is used then a new rod will also be required because the kit has been modified from the original parts.

Is that correct?

Thanks,
Dave
