Cool Living Dangerously

After our recent discussion about crests on after-market wheels and airbags, I bit the bullet and decided to live dangeously.....I installed the silver Porsche crest on my wheel!

Marc
p.s. I installed a new tach too (no, it is not just turned).

Marc,

I'm curious, what is the wooden piece near the gas pedal? I think I saw that in another post.

Cheers,
Dave

Dave- I was going to say that the answer to you question is that it's just Marc "sportin wood" over his new crest. But in an effort to keep things clean, I decided i would not. After all, he is the moderator.

Dave,

I have not re-installed the brake calipers yet so it is just a brace holding the brake pedal down so the brake fluid does not leak out.

Where did you end up sourcing the tach from?

North Hollywood Speedometer.

I bought a used tach. from a wrecker (CDN$300) and sent it for a dial change & re-calibration.

As the face is mylar and back-lit, they can't do totally custom faces (like in the 3.2's) but they offer the one I got (US$140).

It puts the 6700 max at 12 o'clock but, unfortunately, does show the redline at 7400.

Oh well, I still have the stock one and it is 5 minutes to swap back.

The upside is you will be in styling if they haul you off if the airbag goes off with a Porsche crest pasted to your forehead

Default WTB small silver crest

For a non-steering wheel project, I'm looking for a similar small silver badge. A silver 356 badge's acceptable, too (if I could find one).

Really appreciate any referrals to a confirmed vendor or a RLer with one available.

Marc-- You have a PM; your crest's perfect!
