Default Looking for a new front splitter/lip

Hello again - more questions:

I am looking for a new front splitter/lower lip and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions where to look.

I already bought the Rennspeed "964 C2 RS Front Lip" but I am really not happy with the fit of it - plus it does not have a lower pan so is only screwed to the front edge....

I really like the look of the BetterBodies "993 Lower Front Spoiler Lip" but it will not fit a 964. It has the full pan though.

Any other ideas where to look? I did not see anything on the MAShaw web site.

Thanks. Marc

I haven't had a chance to check for your specific part but you might want to try (if you haven't already have).....

- American International Racing
- GT Racing
- Getty Design

Good luck

P.S. If you do find something, it will most probably be out of FiberGlass or carbon.

Jim - as much as I like the winged spoiler on Rick's car, I am not sure I want the same look.

How bad is the fit for the RS splitter? I just ordered one in carbon fiber last week from there.

Tech Art makes a 3 piece splitter I have on my car. Available from GMP @704-525-0941 ext 255 for Danny. No financial interest.

Can you post some pictures of the one on your car?

Thanks. Marc

Curvature at corners is not the same as the car so it leaves good 1/4" - 3/8" gaps. The rear-most corvers also do notline up well with the car.

I can try to post a picture but it is hard to hold it in place and work the camera.

My car has the Getty Design part which fit nicely with their fiberglass bumper. I don't know how well it would fit with the factory part. It also does not have the lower covers which are important for oil cooling.

This is the best I have right now. From Tech Art website. This is a 3 piece with underclosure.

The Getty design one looks very similar to the Rennspeed model - perhaps it would fit better.

raacer - thanks.

Marc
edit: Ouch! $28 for a catalogue - TechArt is not cheap!

You welcome.
The Tech Art is not made of fiberglass. It is polyurethane and therefore somewhat flexible.

My vote goes to the RUF front lip. Excellent fit (100%) and has a "factory" look.

For fitment and overall quality you can't beat Techart (supposedly they purchased the blueprints to parts/most of the 964?), no experience with FVD but they sell the narrow body front chin spoiler (220-503-055) for $350USD.

raacer,
what was the cost of your TechArt piece?

Just go to the Getty Design website, they are the same company.

If anyone had an original it would be real easy (and cheap) to make some kevlar reinforced, polyurethane knockoffs.
