Default Sod's law....

Great intentions on doing the C4's front brakes. First the grub screws won't move, so had to drill them out and get news on. Then the stainless brake lines I was sent turn out the be the wrong ones... now, with the calipers off and painted, the damn decals are too long and too small. ARGH

So, while the C4 sits on axle stands waiting for parts, has anyone bought a set of decals for a 1990 C4 / Brembo's with raised lettering? I figured I would ask before I go get a time of paint and paint the raised lettering white.

If I had all the correct parts, this would have been a simple 1/2 day job.

Thanks in advance

I wondered the same thing after having no luck getting a matching decal and not wanting to go thru the trouble of silk screening etc. Then I ran into a fellow at a track event that gave me a simple solution. After painting the caliper just take a fairly fine flat file and run it across the top of the PORSCHE logo. The text will be a bright silver against your caliper colour. I did mine this way and they look great.

Hope this helps.

Who manufacturers the lines that you were sent? The teflon with a stainless braid Goodridge lines for the 964 and 993 are also wrong and should not be used/ordered. The ridge that holds the retaining spring and stops the lines from vibrating is spaced incorrectly.

Yes, those are the one's I used.

You can see them peeking out in the picture. They held up well too - lots of miles, track time, and washes.
