Default Tyre pressures....

Got my four new Pzero's on Saturday and they feel great!!

So, on Cup I 17" OEM wheels, whats the correct pressures for 205/50 fr and 255/40 rear, anyone?

The sticker on the rear engine bay says 36" fr & 36 rear, is this correct or is it relating to D90 wheels?

Thanks in advance!!

The reason I run 2 lbs difference is because I always did on my 2 previous 911'sand always got decent tire wear and a bit less jolt in the steering. I know the front is different on these cars but old habits are hard to break!

One more vote for 36/36. I think that there is a Porsche TSB that states that this is correct for 17" wheels.

FWIW, the engine compartment sticker on my '90 USA car calls for 36/44. Interesting that yours says 36/36.

FWIW, when I first got the car (it came with Cup I replicas) I tried 36/44 and the ride quality was horrible. I can't imagine running 44 PSI in the rear on our cars.

Brian, IIRC, 36/44 would be the recommendation for 16" wheels.

Right...

My post was simply to question the sticker on the OP's car calling for 36/36. Would that be because later year C2's came with 17's?

Pretty sure the OEM wheel size on NA 964s was 16"........Maybe was 17" on the turbo only.

My car came with the 17" from the factory, so would they maybe put the sticker on there for 17's and the other one if it came with 16" ?

2 cents worth on my own question.

Paul,

I have the same wheels as you, and the same size back tyres, but mine is running 225/45 x 17 at the front. What made you go for the 205/50 x 17's and how are they on tramlining?

I know the 225 is a popular front fitment, but I have never really been happy with mine.

John, the PO was a retired racing driver of sorts and had the car for 10 years and just felt as he'd done the ring and all sorts of tracks then he must have preferred the sizes of 205 and 255 so left it as was. I thought about the 225, but then thought that the geometry would be out and maybe the drive would be a harder turn in ?
