anyone know the wiring of the factory amp DIN pre-amp out plug?
I think I figured out my stock CR-1 radio's interference problem - the wires in the DIN plug at the back of the radio going to the factory amp were all mashed, with several leads broken.
Now, I don't know how to wire them all back together since 5 wires were disconnected. Does anyone know the wiring sequence of this DIN plug on the male end? The colors of the wires do not match up with the female end as I was thinking of just cutting the wires and splicing them. Where the female end has colored wires (blue, yellow, green, a loose brown one, red, red, and white), the male end has all insulated wires, that are white and red...
Has anyone tapped into the input wires on the factory amp? I thought I had them matched up, but obviously don't - only two speakers ended up working, and they didn't sound so good! And I still have interference when the PDAS hydraulic pump is running.

Garrett,
I have the Shop Manual wire diagrams which show two radio options. One with the "Booster" and one without. I'm not sure if this is the CR-1, but I'd be happy to send along the wiring diagrams.
PM me with your email address and I'll send them off.
Cheers,
Dave

Thanks Dave - I have the diagrams but they do not show the wiring sequence for the DIN plug... that's why I'm stuck and hoping someone has fiddled with this already!
Otherwise I'll just have to pull the amp and run the radio without it...

Do a search on when I posted about my CDR-210 player install. I'm pretty sure I posted the color of the wires in the DIN plug and what they went to. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll look around and see if I still have my notes on that.

Hi Bill, thanks for the tip - I decided to do a little extra work, and I removed the passenter seat, and disassembled the other side of the pre-amp plug to see what the wire layout is supposed to be. I got it all back together and it now works great! About 2 hours into it I realized I could probably go to an electronics store and just buy a new one... oh well!!
I had to also re-wire the antenna plug since it was also broken, and wow - that is an interesting setup with one single, itty-bitty wire that needs to be soldered in that plug! Now everything works great just as it should with no whining when the PDAS pump is running which is very nice. Now that the radio works, it is clear how bad my rear shelf speakers are!
