Default Friday Folley

We got all the lunber dropped off at the new house, and they plan on starting construction Monday. Only 5 months until move-in, according to the expediter. I'm happy about that, but it's real close to delivery date for our baby.Maybe the stork can just hang onto that baby until we get settled?

I ordered my new shoes for the Porsche; Goodyear F1 GS-D3s. I did go 225 in front, but stuck with 255 on the rears. They should be at the installer today or monday, and I have to finish cleaning up the wheels before installation. Can't wait to have air pressure in all 4 wheels again. Then alignment and corner balance

I have a half-day today so we can get the house ready for Sunday's open house. Wish us luck.

So what's got you all giddy today, or this week?

Upgrading the torsion bars to bigger adjustable ones. I'm starting the job this weekend. It should be fun! This will complete my suspension upgrade for my winter project. The thing that REALLY has me giddy is the upcoming auto-x/DE season. YEAH!

I'm happy that I didn't have an accident driving home from MA to NY last night in the snow. I saw 12 cars off the road; 2 off their wheels. The p-car on RSI's just wanted to run!

Then a snow plow threw some wet snow off an overpass which hit my windshield and shattered it. The impact was hard enough to knock the rear view mirror off, taking a bit of glass with it. I've noticed little bits of glass dust on the dash and in the handbrake basin.

I was going 55mph and managed to keep my hands on the wheel and the car on the road.

I'll tell you what, I'm growing very comfortable in this car! The handling is phenominal; even in the snow. It takes a lickin and keeps on stickin.

I'll be taking pictures later on for insurance purposes and will try and get one posted up here.

Cheers,
Dave

Dave - sorry to hear of your trouble. Maybe the city/municipality will pay for the damage so it does not go through your insurance?

I am happy as I got my steering wheel spacer so I can get the AJ-USA steering wheel install done.

I'm happy because my new shoes are going on my car today (Toyo Proxes). I'm not so happy because I have a long form flight physical today. Should take a few hours. I hope the Doc has small hands!

Cool

Happy because I ended up with an airplane ticket to Puerto Rico for next week and nothing to do (no work). So taking a week off and going to the beach, eating some excellent local cuisine... just relaxing in the caribbean sun.

Wife is not happy that I am going alone... but I can deal with that when I get back.

I also have been using the car on a daily basis. It is just a blast with the weather we have...

Wooo Hooo! I'm happy because the motor that was supposed to be forthcoming for my car has finally made it to Chris Cervelli's shop, and it won't be long before it is back together!

I'm happy because I should be getting my case, crank, rods, and heads back from Jerry Woods today. We got the GT-3 oil pump to replace the bad 964 one, at less than half the price!!! Just required a little machining of the case.

Looking into welders to reinforce the rear engine carrier, am considering a MIG.

The DAS Sport rollbar came in yesterday, and I started painting it (flat black). I also had time to swap out to Silverstars and clean the headlights. Big difference. Thx to RL for all the tips.

Now I just need to get my brake deposits off. I decided to try the Hawk Blues before replacing the rotors. We will see.

Pretty happy that I spend a couple of days in the Ardennes and tried cross-country skiing for the first time ever. Great experience. Took a few pictures only a few miles from Spa-Francorchamps.

Glad you like them. The top pictures and the last one are taken on the dam of the Gileppe, the castle and the other dam are near Robertville. We've had almost 2 feet of snow which is a lot for us.

Tx Brian, the lake behind the dam serves as a reservoir for drinking water. The two towers contain the pumps. They have something special about them I thought.
