Default C4 21mm rear sway bar

Obtained a 21mm rear sway bar for my C4 to decrease the understeer. It hasn't been installed yet as the car is in winter storage, should be getting to it as soon as the weather breaks and I can clean out my garage. How much of a decrease in the understeer can be expected and are the any issues to be aware of with the change over.

Thanks

I thought it was the front sway bar that needed changing to reduce understeer...

..anyway, I'm sure some C4 owners will chip in

No Rob.

quote garret376
"The stiffer sway bar in the rear is a good move - that should significantly help with the overall tendency for understeer while also improving your body roll over (by reducing it)".

Yup - a larger/stiffer rear bar will help to reduce understeer.

That is why I am putting in a 22 mm rear bar - my stock one was 20 mm so I'm not sure how much of a difference a 21 mm would make.

I understnd from Adrian's book that if all the C2 owners switched rear sway bars with all the C4 owners, we would all have cars that have less under steer and less over steer. Gee I wonder why Porsche didn't think about that ?? Not being much of an auto engineer, did they pruposely design these cars to have that much oversteer or understeer that we have to change them out for better handling? Everytime, I hit a curve, I keep pushing the speed a little more to see what happens. So far I have not caused either or but I may still be a wimp when it comes to pushing the envelop on the curves. Guess I'll see in my first DE.
