I have the laminate thru most my house. Its a lot tougher then you think. If I havent scratched it in 5 years dont think a dog will to bad. Actually its pretty funny watching my neighbors dog try to run on it I put it down myself. The new snap together ones are a "snap" to install and tought as nails.
Got my trim rings on the instruments and they fit great and look good.

I had the same issue with the ABS light staying on from time to time on startup until I reved the engine to 3600 RPM. When it's in this state the alternator is not charging which can be proven by putting a voltmeter across the battery and observing the voltage is less than 13.8volts. As soon as the engine goes over the above mentioned engine speed the ABS light goes out and the battery voltage jumps to 14 plus volts, indicating it is charging. On one occassion when it was in this noncharge mode I continued to drive the car with the radio on and it was the radio which was the first thing to shutoff due to the battery voltage dropping below a voltage the radio would work on. I would imagine there are other things such as mentioned in the treads above which are sensitive to a low battery voltage including coil voltage/spark at the spark plugs and in turn a poor running engine. Resoldering the 15pin connector on the back of the clock solved everthing except the airbag and seatbelt light which had tripped on while the connections were poor before the resolder. I'm confident that after I get the hammer to reset the airbag/seatbelt light the lights won't come on again. One problem I'm still working on is the heater setting, in that after setting the temperature dial to say 21 and enjoying warm air for up to an hour the vents gradually start to blow cooler air until I adjust the temperature up to say 24, after the heat starts I can set it back to the original 21 until it starts blowing cooler air again after a period of time. I'm not sure if the clock has anything to do with this problem I may have to resolder.
Hope this helps

Good luck with the heater problem - Your heater problem sounds like a standard climate control in any car. When the cabin temperature gets up to / over the desired setting (21 deg C in your case) the sensor changes the heat setting on the servos to cooler air until such time the cabin falls below 21 Deg C and then the warmer air kick back in???
Maybe try opening the doors for a few mins when the cold air starts and see if the servos notice this and start the warm air again?
Maybe I’m looking at this a bit too simple (I’ve still a lot to learn) but you never know .I’m not sure if the 964 unit does this - sensor on the left side of the heater control unit next to the recalculation button???? See link photo.

Thanks again for your help

Hey Chris, Cooky says..".Woof, woof, sniff, bark, bark"... "Thanks for letting us use your thread"...
This was the general idea last week, nothing more. And again thanks for standing with me...
Marc et al...
I don’t know enough about my 964 yet to just talk about that so I will go off at tangents when ever I get a chance.
Give cooky a treat for me.

I did try openig the window to cool the cabin further leaving it set at 21 after it starts blowing cooler air and also thinking that the difference in pressure between a closed cabin and the atmosphere had something to do with it - (i.e. I remember reading about some sort of differential valves in the heating system). I also noticed when the heater is blowing warm and the windows are opened that there appears to be a greater volume of warm air circulating afterwards. The CCU temperture sensor by the fan was packed with dust which I cleaned a few years ago - maybe it's clogged up again but the system didn't work after I cleaned it then so I would imagine it's still pretty clean still. I suspect I've got some worn out electronic components in the CCU or I missed something in my resolder job of the clock?

ABS UPDATE - Problem solved
Thanks guys - re-soldering the pins in the clock did the trick. p-car.com diy section is great

I'm off for a drive this afternoon to figure out were this fan buisiness is coming from.
Thanks all
