Default Engine on eBay

Another eBay scam? No Affiliation.

Seller told me pick up was not possible because he's out of town. I told him I could wait and prefered to pick it up myself. He then got angry and said that wasn't possible. If it were me I'd prefer the buyer to pick it up. It's less hassle.

If you can't pick it up, WTF. I would not give it another seconds thought.

that could just be because he never changed his default GMT (which is 6 hrs ahead of Chicago) setting to his time zone. i only say this because i get emails from good friends all the time and their time zones seem to always be mixed up.

but less than 1100 for that motor though? if that's for real it's the deal of the century. and if he won't let you see it, something is definitely wrong. what type of seller WOULDN'T let someone see it? just because he's not home? he could easily have the person who is going to ship the motor be there for you to at least have a look at it.

Go back to the listing and click on SELLERS OTHER AUCTIONS, then click on the SUPERCHARGER KIT FOR 996.
In the last pic (close-up) the belt on the S/C pulley sure looks funny to me. I dont think it's a valid kit either or the belt is not routed correctly. In either case, that S/C is not going to work.

Something's fishy here - so I placed a bid haha. I have a sneaking suspicion this is a scam. I'll call his bluff

I'm 99.9% sure this is B. S. I say we bid this thing up into the tens of thousands just to dick the guy. Who's first?

I'm the high bidder! haha what a deal, a supercharged 3.6 for around $3000!!

The seller emailed me back, said that I "couldn't pick it up in person, because it's already at the shipper," then "Can't use PayPal, just wire me the money." I reported this jerk to eBay, we'll see what happens.

Hiya
The seller has sent me an email , its mine for $3700. ! My question is how to play him . Should I get a USA postal order and tell the postal inspector that is going to a scam ? What do you think ?

If you feel protected by going that route, why not? I have a feeling he wants a wire transfer to who knows where. Did you win the auction?

That's funny, even though there is a winning bidder he's offering to sell it to you also. Why not try to rip off two people while you can?

I'm sure that if you want one also , he could sell another . Maybe at a group buy price ?
