Okay, this is weird, Jason. Great minds think alike I guess. I remembered the thread since Jean-Pierre pointed out this possibility of the zf seal kit. Strange nevertheless.

Thanks guys. I dont have a press and such I would think you would need to do it myself. Maybe somebody local can do the rebuild if I supplied the parts. I need to reread the writeup on the replacement on Pcar.com again soon. Seems like the worst part was undoing it under the dash but I am sure it wont be fun. Anybody got a lead on the best price for a rebuilt unit? This sure is a way over priced part.

If the rack is in good shape you just have to change the washers. I managed to find out that you can buy this kit from the ZF-agent in your country for~70 USD. Just look on zf.com and find the contact info and then check the partnumber on your rack (not the porsche number). Then almost any workshop can change them for you.
