The low production numbers of the 964 was also diminished by the car being the black sheep for so long and many were neglected turned into track cars and scrapped out. Now we have everyone using them to build singers, outlaws and other back date tributes. This leaves a very small number of original cars vs a myriad of 993's. Do a search there are at least 20 993's for every 964 for sale and most of the 964's are junk vs the 993's which are pristine in comparison. So a clean pristine 964 with low mileage has the potential of becoming a valuable commodity especially the 92-94 MY cars.
Agree. Plus, the 964 is the very last of 911s that were hand built.

So true about production and rate of attrition.

A quick search of autotrader.ca in Canada shows there are 4 964s (two turbos 91 and 92, and two 93 RS Americas) and 30 993s! This does not represent all that is for sale in Canada but it provides a pretty good representation of the numbers available up here.

It wont be long before the 993s get cannibalized.

I bought a 1991 C2 with less than 30K miles. All original, concourse condition. Awesome driving car. Hopefully these prices keep going up.

$65K purchased Nov 2015 in Texas. 1991 c2 manual coupe with 29.8K miles - guards red over tan. I'm no expert, so I rate the car, and the entire buying experience, a 10. Bought the car local from a true car guy and gentlemen. I couldnt be happier with my first Porsche. In truth, not too worried about price appreciation. Now a want an early 930 - there is a white one, with blue tartan seats parked next to mine where I keep my car, but that's for another forum.

Default Porsche 964 Fleabay Selling Prices

Though I'd share the selling prices I've recorded from fleabay for the standard variant 964's for 2015. These only reflect the selling prices for winning bids. I've tried to represent as a minimum clear title, fully functioning drive-able cars in fair condition and everything up from this. Of course I may have missed a few, but for the most part I was trying to capture the average selling price for the coupe manuals, coupe tips, cab manuals, and cab tips. Just not enough targas, so they weren't included.

I know fleabay prices may tend to be lower and not reflect the true market, but it's the only real data of any consistent quantity that there is access to for selling prices. Hoping it's of some interest for everyone.

Very interesting data! Thank you for compiling this. Some folks scooped up some great deals on manual C2 cabs in October.

Agreed thanks for compiling the info but so many factors must be considered as well. Just curious were there no targas for sale or did you not follow them?

I wonder how many of them were sold with accurate mileage on the odo? I recall some of them looking rather questionable for the indicated mileage. I know of a bunch that have sold and the PO's had disconnected the speedo for years and many thousands of miles. Finding sub 100k cars was hard to do i find it surprising so many have less than 100k on the odo you rarely saw any for most of the previous years before the increase in interest.

Just not enough selling prices for targa's to get a reasonable average for both manuals and tips.

I can understand cabs having the lower mileage due to seasonal/fair weather use. But I'm skeptical about some of the coupes. The way the market has been in recent years, it's not uncommon to see the same car come up for sale over a year later with the same mileage. Either the cars are just sitting and not being driven or maybe the speedo is being messed with. Both of these situations is not a good thing. Even if the ones that are just sitting are being started up regularly and just idling at operating temperature, this is not good for the air cooled engine.

interesting....the low mileage cars are "more sought after" but the truth is - too low and they may have been not driven and they do ' corrode from the inside out.

Thoughts?
