Default Spring perches replacement

The aluminium collar on which the adjusting nut turns is split on my front struts. Can you replace those, perhaps together with the nut? I found reference for the nut but not for the collar. Tx

Kris, if I recall correctly when we had my struts out of the car, I don't think the collar is removable. Certainly you wouldn't want that part of the assembly to move around on you, since it would compromise the dampening effect, ride height, corner balance, etc.

I think you may have to replace the entire strut. Good news is they aren't that expensive and it is fairly easy to do.

Thanks Jeremy, you're probably right, I'm mounting Koni Yellows inserts which go into the cut Boge shocks. I guess I'm losing the benefit of the price difference with coul overs Somebody else has an enlighted opinion on this issue?

Tx Jim, I'll ask my OPC if they have some used struts lying around somewhere, would help me out. Complete coilovers don't sound that expensive anymore all over sudden, wish I'd gone that route.
