Thanks guys for the kind comments. Here are some interior photos of the car as requested. The interior is quite strange as the carpets are loose from the factory as they were just tacked in. The seats are also standard seats from the factory as opposed to the sports seats or Recaro’s. All this was to just pass customs as a street car and then they would be immediately shipped off to Andial from port for the full Cup Car conversion.
My new to me ‘92 Cup USA just got delivered today. My first air-cooled Porsche and hope to have her out as soon as I get some things sorted out with it.
Looks just about like my car that I just had out for a short Napa Valley loop. Very fun.
That said, beauty in this case is WAY more than skin deep! Beautiful and truly SPECIAL 964. Congrats.
What a beauty this Cup car! A pair of RS Seats from the period would look amazing in this car.
That’s on my list of things to do. Original Porsche OEM Recaro Pole Positions are out of the question at $20k+ for a pair. So just a regular set of Recaro Pole Positions with limited Recaro branding will have to do.
While no Cup car I recently picked up a 94 C2 and had been searching for a set of original Porsche Recaro seats but most were either $20k + or not for sale. I ended up buying a set with Justin Placek. justinplacek.com/shop Based over in Germany so while no discount price its available and cheaper than $20k. Justin will be able to make a copy of the RS seat in the correct Porsche leather or cloth of your choosing. I hope to receive mine by Mid June so can relay photos at that time.
My least pretty but most fun car. It is essentially a cup car with a huge poorly mounted RS style bi-wing but has all the same mods as a cup. Similar HP, trans and bits but weighs a little more. I was having a lot of fun with it on track this weekend and don't care if it gets damaged. Too late for those worries. LoL I was having some LSD lash issues so I called it an early weekend but was off the pace of the newer GT cars by about 5-7 seconds which was not bad considering I couldn't ring more than 125mph out of her in the straights while the GT3's were hitting 150+ with nearly double the HP and Tq. I ended up being equally as quick through all the twisties according to my garmin and it was a fun workout. It is annoying to have my son be 5 seconds faster in his modified 981 Cayman/GT4 tribute but he has youth and lack of fear on his side.
My new to me 91 Turbo. 99,000kms
