this is interesting... you got out of a 993 C4S to move to a 964. can you give us some details in the 964 - mainly C2 or C4 - and what you main impressions are and how the cars differ? the 964 is clearly going to feel more nimble, but i'm curious what other impressions you might have.
great looking 964, btw!
thanks.

returned home and went out to drive car. turned key, nada. popped frunk, leaned the seat forward to grab tool kit out of back footwell and found it soaking wet. pushed down floormat and realized there was about two inches of standing water. wiring harness toast. insurance company totaled. did not have agreed value policy, so had to hire a mediator to help establish a fair market payout price.
bought 964 c2 from a vancouver island rennlister few summers ago. have agreed value policy, and never leave it parked uncovered.
as to the differences, the c4s was heavily modified: rebuilt motor with rs cams and chipped, dansk exhaust, pss9s at just below rs ride height, rs clutch/lwfw, rs short shift, half cage, 996 buckets, etc. it drove really great and handled well, but idled a bit rough and was really only happy above 4k rpm.
964 is also lowered on blistein/greens, chipped, minimal exhaust, but it idles and runs much more smoothly and feels much more like a stock 964 just driving around town. howls when you get on it, and as your rightly point out, is much more nimble in all scenarios. it feels smaller, lighter, more responsive, and generally more engaging. and i know this is contentious, but after living with both, i find i prefer the more classically 911 aesthetics of the 964.
i always thought driving the 993 was an event, but i get that feeling even more intensely in the 964.
cheers!

Love your stance. Are those 8's and 9.5s Cup1s ? Wheel spacer/ET? Thanks!
Posted in the wrong topic apparently so here is mine.
Got it back from the shop. New brake lines, new disks, new RS alignement setup. Car feels like heaven, now I need to give it a bath and some wax.

My car came with 8’s and 9.5’s on 235/275s with 5mm spacers in the rear. A lot of tire for a stock engine... I kinda liked the way my previous car drove better with 7.5/9 with 205/255. That said, I’ll deal with it, as they are new tires, but will look to go with smaller tires next time.
