Default 996 turbo wheels.....will they fit turbo look 964?

Guys.....anybody in the know if the 996 turbo 18X11 ET 45 (rear) and 18X8 ET 50(front) will fit the wide body turbo/turbo look 964?? My Am. Roadster with Turbo look wide body is begging for a wider wheel. I'm not looking foreward to rear trailing arm modification right now.....I hope somebody can tell me it's ok.

I can tell you its ok, but that doesn't mean they will fit

I don't know much about Roadster TL's but what are the wheels you have on there now? Size, ET?

If the offsets for your car are the same as the turbo, I can tell you the fronts will fit, but the rears will not. It is not possible to get 11" wheels in the rear of a turbo at the normal offsets due to the configuration of the trailing arm. Using a 45mm offset can compensate for some of that, but you still may not clear and you will push the wheel way outside the fender lip.

To give you some idea of how far out these 11 X18 in wheels are for the 964, the 964 Carrera 3.8 RS ran 11 X 18s on the rear with an offset of 5mm using the Carrera rear trailing arms and a reinforced support structure.
These 45mm offset wheels are not going to fit without causing serious wheel rub issues on a car with the 964 Turbo rear trailing arms as JBH says nor will they fit on any other 964 with this kind of offset.
Ciao,
Adrian.

I think JBH is right I have a set of hollow TT 2002 wheels on mine but the car is a roller. As soon as the motor/trans is in I will be able to tell you. My rears look to be out side about an inch, the trailing arm seems to have plenty of room with 285 tire. I was told that with a track or (aggressive aliment ) they should fit. The dealer installed the wheels on the car but I don't know if the owner every used them with the car running. I bought the car as an project deal.
You can see the wheels on the car at
www.kmmotorsport.com under 965 project.

Hi guys. Right now I have 285/30/18 in the rear(18X10.5 wheels) I dont' know what the offset is yet. I'm going to take off one wheel and measure backspace and I hope I'll see the ET# somewhere. Currently the tire does stick out about 2cm further than the wheel arch, but because the tire is not "square" the treads roll inward and I get no rubb. Looking inside the wheel arch I can see there is a 30mm space between the tire's widest part and the control arm. Makes me think that if I bought custom sized wheels to fit closely to this 30mm I would hide more tire. Maybe I can fit a 295 tire on the 18X10.5 wheel with, say, 20mm more backspace??

fronts ok Rears wont fit they will exdend out over the fender lip.
If your car is not lowered they will be drivable. If you track and load the suspension in a turn probably will get a rub.
hope that helps
