Unhappy 90/964 power Cabriolet top will not lock

The switch will close the top all the way to the windshield but once there the locking mechanisms will not function. How, if it is possible, do manually lock the top? If that cannot be done (And even if it can), how do I repair the locking mechanisms? Where are the parts to be found in the car and at suppliers?

you should be able to put a screw driver into the locks and turn them manually. Parts will have to be dealer; no one like Autozone or Pepboys carries them.

Thomas. I'ts possible that it's not aligned. Once the top is over the windshield, pull it down into it's respective holes and continue to press the switch to see if this activates it. Mine was doing this, so had to align it. Let us know what happens

Could be the microswitch on the windshield header be misaligned and not getting triggered when the roof is in the right place.

Hi
If the top is aligned and the two microswitches are operating. There are two other areas that cause problems. The Cab roof controller under the dash, drivers side. The wiring, rear passenger side roof quarter area. (fatigue break). You can check the motor and microswitches at the connector behind the rear passenger side cab mechanism cover. You will need a multimeter though.
A quick and dirty test is: When operating the cab roof switch, and with the roof in contact with the front edge. Thump the the cab contoller under the dash! Ask me how I know
