Default Whats it worth

I am thinking of selling my 964 90 cab Pebble grey LHD 68`000 miles

The car is cat D and is in very good condition i have owned it for 3 years with relatively few problems ,just the usual niggles .

This car is not advertised anywhere as i say i am just thinking about it and cant get a value on it anywhere. It has good service history and i have kept on top of the oil changes.

This is not a sales add i just want information .

Whats it worth in £s

Thanks in advance

Dave

P.s it is not the car in the picture

Dave, sight unseen, it's like, how far away is that star,.. Every 911/964 will have a different value based on the obvious?..December, "RS Mag." 1990-91 C4 goes, 27,000-15,000 Euros,..1990-91 C2 goes, 30,000-17,000 Euros... BTW, in this magazine there are, 1107 Porsche 4/sale,.. Buy December's edition," 911&WORLD", for prices in GB, left hand drive w/ miles or kilometres on the odometer read out?.. Someone spoke about that detail not too long ago, very important! BTW, is it a C4 or C2?....
To answer a bit more, more info on the Porsche is needed, for the best appraisal, in front of my eyes,.. All the best, Marc A.

Hi Dave

As you know, the LHD's go for a bit less in the UK than RHD. Marc is spot on that it would be nigh on impossible to give even a ballpark figure. I would check www.911virgin.com every so often and take the price in pink as a guide....yours is relatively low mileage so I would shoot for around £16K or so...?

Christer, have to take the wife shopping, or else I don't eat,.. Now that we know each other, we speak the same language, concerning this guy, or sort of...Great City London, 49 Hill st., Mayfair, was living there for 6 months, The Playboy Club still offers the best dinner in town, for next to no money,. Have a good Football Game weekend, take care my friend!.. Marc A.

I have some spare time this weekend, I might just go and check it out...although it does sound like there is far more than food to eat there... I have tickets to The Prodigy tomorrow night so that should be interesting...not so sure their latest stuff is up to scratch....

Don't forget the seasonal factor. With the winter coming it might not be the time to sell a convertible.
Here a typical 90 cabrio would fetch around 22.000 euro with the same mileage, this is based on 4 ads I saw with the same mileage as yours.

Christer, yeah.. had a look at that link you provided for Dave, not bad..Someone is making an effort there, well described, decent photos, just enough to make the lips wet,. Why are the odometre readouts absent, I found that a little strange, but what a great collection. To reciprocate, I'll send you a link from France, gives you something to look at, take care,..Marc

PS.Hope i did that right!! Go to,.. presentation. Do you speak, "Frog",..

I wouldn't be paying £16 for a lhd CAT D Porsche.

Why is it Cat D?

Marc, when ever I have spoken to 911 virgin and asked about milage they go into the speal about 'its not the miles but the car and they way its looked after'. Translates for me into 'its been to the moon and back mate, but we still want top dollar for it'

With a private sale you would get between 11-12k if its in really good condition.
Cat D tends to put people off regardless of how good the repairs are-if it was only minor stuff that needed repairing ,advertise the fact.
Lhd is another minus factor but being a cab is a plus if you sell your car when the suns shining.
Good luck

C4JohnO,
Sounds a bit like, the world’s oldest profession.. When you think of the similarities to buying a used Porsche 911/964, and compare that, for example, to an answer, such as the one you were given, it’s confusing at times to remember, what the question initially was?...I’ll remember that classic rebuttal next time I want to sell my old rusty lawn-mower, or my Porsche 911/964,.. That’s a classic!!..
All the best, Marc A.

Cat D is a registration for cars that have had some damage to them and have been repaired.

Could be a simple as a door lock during a theft but the insurance paid out before it was recovered. Through to a more serious repair.

It had a small bump about 5 years ago and was deemed "repairable but insurer chose not to repair" hence cat "D"
Inurance damage has 4 categorys a,b,c,d with cat a for scrap only and D being the very lowest grade
I have the photos and was just the front wings damaged.and the repair is perfect.

The car is a c4 and is in very good condition

Thanks for your input

For an insurance company to deem it non repairable I thought the repair damage is over 2/3rds the cars value?

Whats the weather like in Hayle DAvid? I'll be down that way at crimbo but cant take the Porsche. the kids have voted to go in the Fiat Coupe - they say there is more space!!!
