Default Help - Rare Paint Code

Dear Sirs,

Had an outing with my mate who has a 91 C-2 cab in a kind of Gold/Silver colour, when he bought his car from the dealer three years ago, he was told it was metallic beige. I check the sticker and it reads " L999". Had a look of the little red book and could not find the code L999 at all.

I must admit that I have never seen another silver/gold colour 964 before ( plenty of silver though!)

I shall try to upload the photo ( it is about 650K in size and I do not have any photoshop to reduce the size at the moment, new PC you see!)with his C2 and my C2, however, it does look very silverlish on photo and in fact it is a cross between silver and gold if I may say so.

Please let me know what the name of this paint code and if possible pic of 964 in the same colour.

Cheers!

Eddy

Eddie,

Paint code L999 is "paint to sample" - so it can be anything.

Regards

Thanks Dave,

How interesting, so L999 can be any colour. So Dave , do you know any 964 in this kind of silver/goldish colour?

Cheers!

However, there comes a problem when you need to repaint the Carrera!

I suppose one MUST go to the offical Porsche Dealers to have the job done and suppose they SHOULD be able to find the exact formula for the paint mix!

That doe snot sound good to me at all!!

Eddy,

There is a sticker inside the boot, by the fuel filler that has the paint mix on it! I had a local body shop mix me some touch up paint from this.
