Question torque value please! - engine mount to the engine case

I've looked through the manual, but can't find the value for the 4 hex nuts and 1 bolt that attaches the engine mount to the engine case?

Anybody know how tight to go? Thanks!!!

Garrett:

Engine carrier to engine mount = 63 ft.lb
Transmission support to body = 34 ft.lb
Central tube to transmission = 63 ft.lb
Double clamping sleeve to central tube = 55 ft.lb
Shift rod (fit bolt) = 13 ft.lb (secure with Loctite 270)
Drive shaft to transmission flange = 31 ft.lb

Hey Marc, thanks... yet none of those are the 17mm nuts that hold the carrier to the engine case

I chose 50 ft/lb to be safe...

I would have thought the first one was the number you needed. ?

That's the 19mm bolt that holds the engine carrier to the "bearings" - or mounts...

I thought that was for the rear sway bar?! 34 is the setting according to the Chassis portion of the manual for the rear sway bar, too. Hmmm...

hi, the torque is 34 ftlb. the thread should be M 10 it took me a while to figure it out. i just torgued mine a few days ago. if i was not sure i would not have posted it. the torque for the engine mouint to the bearings as they call it is 62 ftlb . the thread for them is M 12. when my wife comes home i will cut and paste it as i dont think i know how.

disregard what i said as i dont want to give you the wrong info. the manual is very vague about this. in the pet they call it the engine carrier . i thought it was the same as stabilizer. i can tell you i used the medium loctite on those nuts that hold it to the engine. maybe someone will chime in that knows what they are talking about as i dont.

my apologies

Garrett,
I ran into the same problem and couldn't find the torque specification in any of the workshop manuals that I own (911, 964, 993) so I ended up doing THIS. I painted the fastener and it hasn't moved in 11k miles.

I eventually found the torque specification for the M10 nut attaching the engine carrier bracket listed as dry (no-loctite) @ 40 Nm/29 ft-lbs.

Thanks Jason. I eventually went with same torque but a dab of loctite 263.
