Cutaway Image For Your Desktop
I've scanned the nice, full color C4 cutaway image from the owner's manual and masked it as an object in my photo editing software. I can now size it and color the background with any shade, pattern, or other graphic. Here's a preview of the source image:
You can see some samples of what can be done here:
<a href="http://www.mindspring.com/~robertcoats/porsche/desktop/" target="_blank">Click Here for a List of Sample Desktop Images</a>
Anyway, if you have a favorite color for your desktop, and would like me to make you a custom image using this cutaway C4, send me what you want (size of the image, size/position of the car, background color, pattern, etc.) and I'll try and knock it out for you.
FYI, the scan was done at 200% of original size, so the largest size of the cutaway itself would be about 1100 x 550 pixels. I could go bigger, but you'd lose some detail. Your desktop image can be any size, from 640 x 480 to 1600 x 1200!

I have Windows 98, so I can't say exactly how sure to do it in Windows ME/2000, but I would guess they are similar enough.
(1) Determine the display size your computer's video card is using. It's most likely 640 x 480, 1024 x 768, or 1280 x 1024. You can check this by RIGHT-clicking on your desktop, then selecting Properties, and then click on the Settings tab...you should see a dialog sort of like this:
I've circled in yellow what to look for; this is the screen size your comptuer is using. I need to know this so I can make the image fit your screen.
(2) Decide how you want the image to look. I can put the car in any location and size in the image, and I can color the background to any shade or pattern you wish. Just imagine the desktop screen on your computer, and think how and where you want the car to appear. I like it in a corner, since I have icons all over the left and bottom sides of the screen. You may want it there, or in the middle, or whereever you wish. Here's a reduced example:
(3) Once I've made the image, I'll put it on a web page. All you to do this is go to that web page, right-click in the middle of the image, the pick the Set as wallpaper option, and you're done! The image will now be your wallpaper.
Finally, don't worry about your ISP. As long as you still have an internet connection, you'll be able to get the image to your computer.

Thanks Robert.
Have to take advantage of this opportune moment to remind you there are 34 more 964 Wallpapers/Desktops images on my site.
Goto <a href="http://www.porsche964.co.uk" target="_blank">John's 964 Web</a> -> Images/Media -> My 964 Wallpapers
I also recomend Webshots as a utility that automatically changes your desktop every day and also uses the images as a slidshow screensaver. Details on my wallpaper page.
Cheers,
John

Wallpaper is the image/pattern/photo/etc. that covers the bottom layer of your desktop. Everything visible on your desktop "sits" on top of the wallpaper.
When I finish your image, I'll email you a direct link to my website where you can download the wallpaper file.

Hey Horst,
Goto my Wallpaper page as suggested and see the info/instructions for 'hoarding' wallpapers. I use Webshots to do this. All the info on my page.
NOTE: As I stress on my site when installing Webshots do not accept the 'install' Gator option.
