Default Carbon Fiber Dash?

Yet another one of my opinion polls to help me with a decision.

Would you purchase/install carbon fiber dash parts for your car? If so or already have please post pics.

Thanks,
Puma

Hope I don't offend anyone that has done this but, IMHO, it looks cheap and tacky.

You mean like this one?

The first dash I ordered was from Getty Designs with all of my other body parts. Unlike the rest of the parts which were excellent and fit nicely, the dash left much to be desired. This one is from GT Racing and is an excellent piece for wet lay up carbon fibre.

Is that a full piece that covers all they way to the windshield? can you take another shot from the windshield? Vents cut outs? Is it 144CF from their catalog??

Thanks. That looks like a niece piece... hummmm...

It is a complete replacement dash, although I don't know how well it would work in a production car where you need to cut it for ventilation.

I do like the look / function of the CF dash as in the racing application, but I've never liked the various bits and bobs of inserted CF, as in the 993 photo from Jaime, or the woodgrain that you occasionally see. JMHO.

Yes, let me clarify too - I think the parts that Geoffrey showed are very sweet!

I think the tacky ones are the eBay stick on bits like in the 993 photo.

Actually the pics of the 993 are the factory Exclusive pieces. They are real carbon fiber and the passenger air bag panel is completely replaced, not just stuck on. I have them on my car and they dress up the interior tremendously. I did not install mine as they came with the car and I don't see the value in spending thousnads on them as the previous owner did. As part of the purchase price they were a great addition. I get nothing but compliments on them. I will say that they are not very noticeable as in the pictures. Most of the time they blend in but add a bit of contrast to the normally bland interior.

Marc,

No foot necessary We are all allowed our opinions. The CF stuff isn't for everyone and as I said I like it on my car but wouldn't spend the $4k+ that the PO paid to have it installed. I doubt I would spend $1k for it myself although I would not revert back to stock now that it is in my car. I find it is much less noticeable on the black interior and serves no real purpose other than some added Bling. There is a lot that one can do with 4k long before CF add ons.

This is a terrible shot of my interior and to be honest I barely realize it is there while driving the car. I admit my car is a little flashy to begin with but it gets lots of looks at the Concours events usually with an honerable mention on the CF stuff. This picture is under fluorescentl light the second you use a flash it shows up much more than it does in real life as seen on the gray interiored 993.
