UNICHIP
Just had a UNICHIP installed last night. The initial results are:
Spec: K&N filter element, cat bypass, cup pipe.
208 rw bhp
Spec: As above + UNICHIP
225 rw bhp
Did not get as much on final run as we were looking for. However it was by now *&$%@ hot in the dyno cell air intake temp 34C. Will be doing an other run and some fine tuning in the next few days and I will post more results and plots then.

That's not a bad gain! It would have been interesting to see what your rwhp would have been without the previous mods, but never mind.
Good luck with the fine tuning. Was this done at GForce?

Yep all the work was done at G Force

The Cup Pipe replaces the primary silencer - the big one under the rear bumper. This silencer is the most restrictive and gives a good reduction in weight right at the back of the car.

I spoke to Chris at G-Force - sounds like a great place. He mentioned that apart from peak HP gain, the re-chipping is probably going to give HP gains in places other than peak revs. So, what's the butt dyno result throught the rev range??
Was this chip only or hot wire/mass air flow setup??
Lastly, price and your value for extra horses opinion.

You don't want much do you? As well as quoting the prices from JZM, AMD etc - would you like one of us to collect the car from you and take it in to have the work done? How about we valet it before bringing it back? How about we PAY for it and deliver it back? Jeez!!!!
Is this the last upgrade before our Manual/Sludgematic (thanks A ) shootout?

I was in a hopefully humourous (sp?) fashion saying that you could call AMD/JZM yourself as opposed to waiting for someone here to answer your query. No offence intended - especially as you carry the hopes of the non-Tip nation out there against JohnFM!

Slight offence taken but never mind. Of more interest is the Manual V Tip debate which I think I have missed. Am I allowed to ask you to direct me to the relevant thread?

SteveW@stig, I'm considering a unichip along w/ some other work for my 964 engine. We did some baseline runs this spring and got 212 @ the rear wheels, only mod is air box and B&B headers w/free flowing muffler, another poster here(Rich G) measured 267 @ the rear wheels the next day. I can post the charts of my runs if anyone is interested. Can you post your hp, torque and a/f charts?

No hot wire MAF installed, Chris and I are still not convinced they are worth it. Will be doing some more checks with a vacuum meter to see what is going on and how much restriction or not is caused by the flat type air flow meter.
Porsche have their map up to about 4000rpm about right and there is not too much you can do here, all we got was the odd extra degree of advance. However there is real room for improvement above 4000rpm all the way up to around 6100ish
Initial thoughts are: smoother across the rev range and a more significant push went the engine starts to come on cam at 4000rpm.
As I said in my first post by the time we had completed the set up the dyno cell temp was rather high, so we will be doing some fine tuning and a final pull to see what we get. I will post some plots then.

You will really need to speak to the guys at G Force for this. As I have known them for sometime I do not pay list price
AFAIK The UNICHIP box is about £250 then you have got to add on fitting, dyno time and labour not to mention the dreaded VAT.
