Unhappy Part number shocks springs body

I tried to order ROW springs for my 1994 5 speed coupe 964 ,it has not got the M030 package on it.
Mass confusion....!

Hennnesy Porsche told me that they showed 3 differant colors of springs, grey and other colors, there said that teh PET would NOT tell them what fit my car.
I also had the same problem with the shocks..they said I would have to get under my car and get the numbers off of the old shocks\struts????
and They said that Monroe now makes most all the shocks \struts for them now

I also was trying to buy a drivers side (U.S.) rear panel with the dual exhaust cutout in it...they could fine NO part number for it..and they said the whole panel was sold as 1 piece???

Anyone shed some light on this?

Regards
Randal

Randal,

In the Porsche catalog, the only difference in springs are the Euro Carrera RS springs. Otherwise, they are the same in the US as in non-US (unless Porsche uses the same part number and provides different parts by geography. I'd be surprised at that). For your 94, the choices are:

Front:
964.343.531.11 green C2 and RS America
964.343.531.12 orange C4
964.343.531.09 white Speedster
964.343.531.80 yellow Carrera RS

Rear:
964.333.531.04 orange C2, C4, C4 Turbo Look
965.333.531.03 green C2/C4 M030, Turbo
964.333.531.07 violet Turbo Look
964.333.531.80 yellow Carrera RS

Note, the Carrera RS springs require Carrera RS shocks and struts. If you want to go this route, read the article on www.porsche964.co.uk in the technical section.

On your shocks, I won't list the part numbers, but will tell you the choices:

Front:
C4
C2
C4 with M030
C2 with M030

Rear:
C2 and C4
RS America and C2/C4 with M030

Talk to Kenn Young, who is the parts manager at Hennessy. He is quite experienced at traversing the Porsche parts catalog and determining fitment.

On the rear drivers side panel you're looking for, I believe the only 964-related part showed up on the Carrera RS 3.8. So, either make a template from the passenger side, and cut your own (others have done this with success) or buy the part from Performance Products or other body parts supplier.

Dear Bill,
The ROW springs and US springs are different. They use the same Porsche part number but they have a different vendor or supplier part number.
I have along with another Rennlister been through the process of proving this. If you contact RUF they will actually tell you to replace your US springs with ROW springs to lower your 964. If you check the 1994 wheel alignment specs in the factory manual you will find the different ride heights and this is achieved via the springs.
Also the data you have put up Bill is short a couple of springs. The Blue coded versions for the 1990 C2 and pre Nov 1st build 1991 versions and the early Turbos are missing. There are also two sets of orange rears for the C4. Option M030 can only be installed on Post Nov 1st 1990 build 964s. This does not affect Randal because he has a late model 964 but others might not realise from your post.
Ciao,
Adrian
