Why sell the 964, it is one of the best 911's made. Spend a little on some updates and use it as a daily driver. The 996's especially the 4S's are nice cars but what about the RMS problems worst depreciation in 911 history and cable shifter. I would definitely think of the 993 or 993TT long before the 996 with it's known issues.

don't forget the 993 series had thier own issues (in fact all porsches have some issues). Tat being said i started looking for a nice 993 C4S and couldn't find one that was not priced in the stratosphere.

The conversation with the wife is not as bad as you think now No. 4 might be a stretch

I usually use the "It just followed me home" excuse!!!! or "what porsche?" that was cheaper than the car i was looking at, a "Bargin" compaired to that BMW i was looking at.

It helps when your wife likes then too also!!!
I agree that the 964 is one of the best cars that Porsche has made - the 993 is also great in it's own way the 996 is a sporty grand tourer and perfect for daily driving (hell it has A/C, cruze, and a radio - i'm living large compaired to the other P-Cars in my garage)
either way - enjoy and it's a great choice 9what ever you decide)

Why not skip the 996 and go for the 997 after all it's just one digit different

Yeah, I know, the 997 is the bomb.

The way I'm leaning now is to keep the 964, do some mods and make it a happy place, and maybe pick up a new 3 Series for running around town. Maybe if the real estate market doesn't bust I can swing a 997 cab next year...

I'm going to take a new 330i for a drive this afternoon, we'll see what we think.
