Air Conditioning Gremlins
My A/C blows cold and works great about 25% of the time. The rest of the time when I put the temp control on the blue dot, the fan on high and press the A/C button, I can feel the cold air in the vents but it won’t blow. If I push the recirculation button the cold air completely disappears. When I push the A/C button again to switch it off, the blower comes on more but not at full blast even with the setting on 4.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Is this a common problem?
Thanks for all your help.

Hello
The best is to read out the fault codes from the unit. What happens when you push max defrost ? Is the heat side working ? Have a short trip to a AC shop and let messure the pressures and temperatures maybe your evaporator/condensor is icing up.

I have a similar problem on my '90 C2. The fan blows intermittently, going off and on whenever I hit a bump. Fuse #1 in the control box supplies power to blower motors and I see power on these all the time. However, when I wiggle Fuse #1 in the Control Box the blowers will go off and on. At first I thought I had a bad connection on this fuse, but I always have power at the blowers. It appears the signal going to the Blower Final Stage is bad.
I continue to troubleshoot, but man is it hot! If I find something , I'll let you know.

Gerald,
My michanic narrowed it down to the fuse that controls the power mirrors. The fuse also controls part of the A/C system. It appears that someone had jammed it into the socket with a wire rapped around it and bent the connectors. He just bent it back and everything works fine now. Just in time too, it was almost 100 here in charlotte the other day. Good luck.
