Flexer,
I'm not sure if I understand your question. You should have a switch at the front of the center console that activates your spoiler -- it can go up or down. The catch is that the car has to be running, or the ignition switch has to be at the part right before you start the car -- where all the warning lights come on.
Good luck!

Dear Melissa,
Flexer, does not identify his 964. I would assume that the **** is not there. The spoiler control **** was not installed on the 1989 C4s.
However if Flexer opens his engine lid and has a look at the spoiler mechanism he will find a little manual switch. If he hooks a new switch into this wiring, viola, it will be able to open and close the spoiler.
Ciao,
Adrian

PS: If this is a 1990 onwards model and the **** on the centre console is missing, then something is seriously wrong.

My 91 C2 TIP cabrio rear spoiler works fine, but, checking connections, I see a connector with 4 wires, two black and two grey.
A couple of them (black and grey) is connected to a switch on the mechanism, but the other couple is simply shorted together after the connector.
Is it rigth ? Is something missing ? Can I do any check ?
Thank you.

Dear Herbie,
Do not need to do anything. For your model the system was re-designed quite heavily but they used the same wiring looms. Those two wires you have found go to a control unit which is no longer installed in your model year. They are hooked up on mine,

Adrian, a dubt: as a moderator, do you prefer that new questions on previous arguments are posted in previous threads, as I do, if those already exist, even if very old, or creating a new thread is better for this forum ?
Thank you
Thank you

Dear Herbie,
I prefer to keep the whole old thread running. Keeps all the data in one place. However if somebody wishes to start a new thread they normally have a reason for it. I do not mind either way. What is important for me is the content.

I just saw this thread again -- I'd forgotten all about it.
Adrian, you are a wealth of knowledge! I had no idea (obviously) that the '89 models didn't have the spoiler control ****.

Damn! There you go Melissa, ruining my whole perspective on you...thought you knew everything there is to know about the 964!!
Just to make you feel bad, I KNEW about the '89 not having a switch.
