Yes, Holt Motor Sports bought my Venetian Blue Bombshell 1988 coupe for $20k at 71k mi, and the 96 C4S that took it's place is just so... similiar! I can't believe how similar these two cars are, yet so far apart in price. I really did miss that ole blue boy... till I drove the 96 around town for a day last week. There's something about driving over the same speedbumps, the same drive to work, the same exiting my tough driveway , the same about town maneuvering that truly show you the subtle differences in the two cars. Driving it home from Chicago to DC was a gas, but it wasn't much of a comparison as I never took that trip in my 88. Driving the C4S here in town has proved to me that I made the right choice. I was sooo close to getting a 993 Targa instead, but I could never find a Polar Silver/Black leather example to look at. I only started looking at C4S's as my mechanic Roger Bratter (Autotherapy in Gaithersburg Md) told me it was the best 993 to get, nicer than the Targa. I thought C4S's were a bit too outrageous in appearance at first with that exagerrated rear end, but by picking a silver, non-descript color, it isn't quite so outlandish looking. I just LOVE this car. The ventillation system rocks compared to the 88. I bought it mostly for the way it looked, and because it was "supposed" to be a great car to own. I have come to find in the week I drove it all around town, that it is an incredibly fast beast, yet a breeze to drive in the city! Assisted power steering? Sweeeet! Riding in it, I feel like a cross between Jay Paul Getty and Mario Andretti! I'm very happy I made the move to sell my 88, though I practically weeped after the new "owner" drove off with it from my house.
(Obligatory 964 content) I even looked at a white/black interior w/white piping 94 widebody at Cherner Classic Motors in Potomac Md just before I got my 993, but the car had 105k miles and my wife would have killed me if I spent $29k on a car with that many miles. It seemed to be a great car for that price. That classic 911 look is just toooo much! I can't get enough of them! It's all good - 911,964,993,996 - as our 8 year says - "whatever".

Hi Stever, I followed your purchase thread with interest - Polar Silver is (despite the inane rattlings and Photoshop exploits of a few of our Guards Red members) simply the best color (IMHO) so congratulations!!!!!
