I learned that it only takes a good pull on a loose corner to pull the clear nose mask off the car. Now it will take a good cleaning, polishing, and waxing to get the shine back on that area. Paint seems to be very good yet, just dull.
I love having my MP3 connected to the stereo; I don't have to carry all kinds of CDs around to match my mood.
I learned that 6 mm spacers on the rear, while small, can really help the 8.5" rear Boxster twist rims fill out the wheel wells but still leave enough turns on the lug nuts that longer studs are not needed.
I learned that one can fit a 62cm road bike inside the car. Frame and fork in the back seat with saddle and seatpost removed and all drivetrain components wrapped up in a towel, one wheel in the boot, and one wheel in the front seat. I probably could've fit one of the wheels behind the frame but I didn't want to unpack it again. Anyway, who knew?
I have learned that track addictions, while tremendously fun, can be quite expensive (e.g., car, prep, tow vehicle, trailer, consumables, etc . . . ) I am even considering selling my 996 to fund my habit. Sad to even contemplate.

I learned not even suggest that "we" sell wife's '91 Guards Red cab for a newer (993) model. Lots and lots of cold shoulder and hot tongue. Her quote,"If it was your car you would never, never even suggest such a thing!" Silence followed.
We're taking the cab to Monterey for 10 days of Pre-Historic and Historic races at laguna Seca. Leaving Ruby 64C 356 at home until the Ventura German Car Fest. I hope she forgives me. Monterey's a happening for us each year. If you'all have never experienced the venue, you really should. Just bring suitcases full of money. Classic car buffs just have way too much disposable cash. I guess the drug trade is still going strong! (Not me, of course)
