lowering a 964
I'm looking for advice on how to eliminate the enormous fender wheel gap (3"-4") on my 92 Roadster.
I was once told that you can adjust the ride height without shelling out additional $$ for new springs. Is this true?
I have the 92' Turbo suspension, as oppossed to the standard 964-for whatever that's worth??
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

"SEARCH" the various posts would be my advice...there's a lot of information on here regarding lowering a 964, that's for sure!
Also, check out my lowering/suspension upgrade article on www.porsche964.co.uk
If you aren't educated on suspension upgrades/options/ideas by the time you've gone with those two suggestions...you need help!

Dear Roadster,
The ride height on standard 964 supsension and the 1992 964 Turbo is the same. The springs are 40% stiffer and the rears are progressive. The 1991 964 Turbo had the same springs as the C2. Blue coded ones if I remember correctly.
You have an effective 10mm lowering using the installed spring perches.I do not believe the Dopke Spring Perches are available anymore. I have not heard from Clay in some time.
The most effective way to lower is to purchase a new set of springs. Which ones will be determined by your driving requirements. Generally I do not just recommend replacing the springs because you can cause your shocks to bottom out. Anyway, Jeff suggests a check of the archives. This is a good idea because this subject has been discussed many times. In the end though any modification needs to suit your driving habits and requirements,
Ciao,
Adrian
